Director of Technology and Digitization // ORF
Born in Klagenfurt in 1970, Harald Kräuter completed HTL training in communications engineering and electronics and graduated with a doctorate in journalism & communications science/political science. He began his ORF career in 1990 as a sound engineer at the broadcasting center in Vienna. In 1999, Kräuter became Technical Director at the Lower Austria Regional Studio until 2002, when he became Head of the Technical Facility Management Department at the ORF Center. In 2007, he took over investment management in the Technical Directorate and, in this capacity, played a key role in the introduction of HDTV at ORF. After serving as deputy and interim head of the Technical Directorate until the end of 2011, Kräuter was responsible for ORF's company-wide efficiency improvement program Focus. In 2013, he was appointed managing director for ORF's subsidiary Gebühren Info Service GmbH (GIS). Kräuter has been ORF's Director of Technology and Digitization since January 1, 2022.
