Climate activist and author
Lena Schilling is 22 years old, a climate activist, author and studies political science. At 17, she became politically active as part of the "Fridays For Future" movement in Austria. She was a spokesperson for the initiative for a supply chain law and in 2020 founded the Youth Council, an independent youth organization that aims to continue the protest on the streets in an organized way. In 2021, she registered the Lobau protest camp, which resulted in the longest eco-occupation in Austria to date. In 2022 she published the book "Radikale Wende" to describe the protest and the protest movements and to formulate their historical relevance.
