Markus Winter

Markus Winter is the Chief Technology Officer of Windkraft Simonsfeld and has been an important player and expert in the Austrian energy landscape for over 20 years. Windkraft Simonsfeld AG, based in Ernstbrunn (Lower Austria), operates and develops wind and solar power plants in Austria and other European markets. With 91 wind turbines in Austria, two in Bulgaria and a solar power plant in Slovakia, the company produces the annual electricity requirements of 175,000 households. With around 3,700 participants, Windkraft Simonsfeld is one of the largest citizen-owned companies in Austria. Markus Winter sees it as his mission to accelerate the energy transition, stop the climate crisis and promote energy independence with the rapid expansion of wind and solar power plants.
