Sylvia Hofinger

Sylvia Hofinger has been Managing Director of the Chemical Industry Association since 2011. Together with her team, she is committed to creating optimal conditions for the member companies - which come from various sectors such as plastics, pharmaceuticals, coatings, detergents, etc. - and is the industry's mouthpiece to the outside world - especially with regard to the performance of chemicals and the chemical industry. Prior to that, she worked for 15 years in the Ministry of Economics in various areas, including department head for sectoral corporate policy, and later as a cabinet member in charge of corporate, energy and environmental policy. She graduated in international economics in Innsbruck and Seville.
